William Adrian King, (Bill or Rex to his high school and college buddies), beloved husband, father, and grandfather, died January 25, 2018, at Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community.
He was born December 2, 1929, in Pittsburgh, the son of the late William Adrian King and Marie Trakofler King. His sister, Dorothy Monaghan Nagorski, predeceased him.
He graduated from St. Fidelis High School in 1947 and St. Vincent College Seminary in 1951. Bill spent most of his adult life working in the financial industry at Mellon Bank 1956-1967, United Mercantile Agencies 1967-1969 and First Commonwealth Bank 1969 to retirement in 1994. In retirement Bill enjoyed working in real estate.
Bill married Naomi Niebel on August 26, 1961 at St. Augustine Church, Pittsburgh at a Solemn High Mass. They raised four wonderful children.
Bill was very active in the Catholic Church and in charitable and civic organizations. He was a member of Saints Simon and Jude Roman Catholic Church, Blairsville where he sang in the choir, served as a lector, a Sunday School Teacher and was active with the annual church bazaar for 25 years. Bill was a real life "Jack of all trades". He was skilled in woodworking, building, working with all types of tools, doing electrical work, and tinkering with anything he would get his hands on. His all-time favorite sports team was the Pirates, but he was an avid fan of all Pittsburgh teams. Bill was a very kind and thoughtful person with a genuine and engaging personality. One of his greatest loves was being with family and friends. A naturally social, people-person, Bill had a special ability to connect with anyone he met. He was an inspiration to not only his family, but also to all that knew him. He will be deeply missed.
