Virgil R. King, 77, of Meadville, passed away Thursday, January 15, 2026, at Wesbury United Methodist Community.

Virgil was born in Meadville, on December 25, 1948, a son of Elizabeth (Cook) and the late Elmer King.

On August 24, 1979, Virgil married Julia A. Carl; she survives.

He attended Bible Baptist Church. Virgil was employed as a machine operator by Lord Corporation in Cambridge Springs for many years. A Vietnam veteran, Virgil entered the US Army on March 3, 1969 and served his country honorably until his discharge on October 17, 1970.

In addition to his wife, Julia, of 46 years, Virgil is survived by his step son Stephen Casbohm of Linesville; his mother Betty King of Cranesville; and a brother Dale King (Nora) of Lake City.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Family and friends are invited to call from 11 AM-1 PM on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST. MEADVILLE, where the Funeral Service will open with Full Military Honors by VFW Post #2006 at 1 PM. Pastor Phillip Thomas of Bible Baptist Church will officiate.

Virgil will be laid to rest in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
