Theresa T. Smith

Theresa T. Smith, 100, of Meadville, passed away Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at Wesbury.

Theresa was born in Meadville, on February 5, 1925, a daughter of the late Alessandro and Angelina (Morrell) Tartaglione.

On April 24, 1943, Theresa married Junior Smith; he predeceased her on May 15, 2017.

Theresa was an active member of St. Mary of Grace Church, and was as a member of the Altar Rosary Society, and Care and Concern Committee. Her responsibilities were to visit and pray the rosary with the shut-ins. She also enjoyed cooking for the annual Columbus Day dinner and other church functions.

After 40 years of service Theresa retired from the Coning Department of the former Avtex Fibers, Inc. She was a member of the Meadville Elks Auxiliary #219. Her hobbies included cooking, working in her flower garden, daily walks and taking time to visit with friends and neighbors. Theresa enjoyed playing cards, BINGO and board games with family and friends.

Survivors include her daughter Nancy Evans (Lee) of Jacksonville, FL; granddaughters Laura Evans of Jacksonville, FL, Kimberly McDonald (Luke) of Los Angeles, CA; great grandsons Rigby and Griffin McDonald; siblings Angelina "Angie" Lewis of Meadville, Mary Consiglio (Frank) of Saegertown; 14 nieces and nephews.

Theresa was preceded in death by siblings Jean Guttadauria, Lucy Stake, James Tartaglione, and Joseph Tartaglione.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10 AM on Friday, October 24, 2025, at St. Mary of Grace Church, 1085 Water St., Meadville.

Theresa will be laid to rest with her husband, Junior, in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

A heartfelt thank you to all the staff at Wesbury as well as Gentive Hospice, especially Jessica for the exceptional care.
