Sonya Marie Shartle

Sonya Marie Shartle, 52, of Meadville, passed away Sunday, December 8, 2024, at home.

Sonya was born in Meadville, on September 6, 1972, a daughter of Robert V. and the late Rose A. (Lang) Stanford.

Sonya was employed as a Medical Assistant at Whole Health Orthopedics in Meadville. She earned her Associates Degree in the Medical Assistant Program from Shenango Valley Institute. She was a 1992 graduate of Meadville High School. Sonya looked forward to the yearly summer concert tours of Kenny Chesney, having followed him for 17 years. She never met a cat or kitten she did not love. Sonya will be sadly missed. 

Sonya is survived by her daughter Josie A. Shartle (partner Adam) of Sarver; her father Robert Stanford; sister Tanya Matelan of Erie; and her brother Robert V. Stanford II (Allyon) of Ferrum, VA., her furry companions Finn and Booger.

Family and friends are invited to call from 5-7 PM on Friday, December 13, 2024 at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE, where a Memorial Service will follow at 7 PM with Frank Tipping officiating.

Private burial will take place in Venango Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Funeral Home.
