Shirley Ann Dunnewold

Shirley Ann Dunnewold, 93, of Cambridge Springs, passed away Friday, November 21, 2025, at home, surrounded by family.

Shirley was born in Corry, on July 15, 1932, a daughter of the late Walter and Opal (Morris) Pier.

On June 24, 1967, Shirley married Allan "Al" Dunnewold; he preceded her in death on June 2, 2022.

She was a member of Saegertown United Methodist Church.

Shirley was a graduate of Orra Jean Beauty Academy, Erie. She owned and operated her own beauty salon in Corry for several years. In 1985 she and her husband, Al, purchased Lost Lanes Bowling Alley, Cambridge Springs, which they owned until 2002. During this time she also worked at Erie County Plastics. She was a hard worker all of her life. Shirley enjoyed bowling, golfing, visiting casinos, playing cards, especially Pinochle and 500 at the Cambridge Springs Senior Center. She will be remembered for her warm personality, her deep love for all babies and for her family. In turn, she was loved by all that knew her.

Shirley is survived by her children: Billy Martin (Linda) of Corry, Ronald Martin (Marge) of Corry, Ann Dunnewold (companion Rob Young) of Cambridge Springs, Dan "Bernie" Dunnewold of Confluence, David "Moose" Dunnewold (Kim) of Corry, Donna Dunnewold of FL; grandchildren: Eric Martin (Julie), Bryan Martin (Laurel),Timothy Martin (Sarah), Kevin Martin, Hope Springs (Dave), Jason Martin, Joshua Martin (Stacie), Kyle Martin (Kim), Andrea Hetrick, Nickolas Archacki, Andralynn Young; numerous great and great-great grandchildren, her sister Twila Johnson of Sugar Grove, many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her sons; Richard Martin, James Martin; a grandson Allan Glenn Roberts; brothers Donald, Eugene, and Norman Pier.

A private Celebration of Life Service will be held at the convenience of her family.

Shirley will be laid to rest with her husband, Al, and son, Richard, in Venango Cemetery.
