Shirley Ann Denys, 83, of Meadville, passed away peacefully Saturday, December 13, 2025, at home surrounded by family.
Shirley was born in Meadville, on August 11, 1942, a daughter of the late Stanley and Mary Ann (Garczek) Leszek.
On October 14, 1972, Shirley married Peter Denys; he preceded her in death on August 11, 2008.
She was a member of The Epiphany of the Lord Parish, St. Brigid Church.
Shirley graduated from Meadville High School and over the years worked for the former Keystone Construction Company, National Tel-Tronics and retired from the Dietary Department of Meadville Medical Center after 19 years of service. Her greatest joy came from being a homemaker and caring for her family. Each year her family and friends looked forward to her Christmas fudge. Shirley found pleasure in working in her flower garden and had a fondness for geraniums. Her warm and kind personality will be missed by those who knew and loved her.
Shirley is survived by a daughter Lori Denys Lynn (Bob) of Meadville; a granddaughter Kathryn Ann Denys Lynn (Lucas Whitcomb) of Coraopolis; a sister Pat Mullet (Phil) of Pinckney, MI; two nieces Janet Mullet (John Lederle), Jodi Mullet (Ken Clark); a nephew Stan Wojciechowski (Bonnie); three special friends Shirley, Margo, and Joyce with who she shared the nickname "golden girls".
Visitation is from 12:30-2:30 PM on Thursday, December 18, 2025,, at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE, where a funeral Service will follow at 2:30 PM with Fr. Jeff Lucas officiating.
Shirley will be laid to rest with her husband in St. Brigid Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made in Shirley's memory to Hospice of Crawford County, 766 Liberty St., Meadville, PA 16335.
