Rosy Nalpathanchil

Rosy (Cheruvathor) Nalpathanchil, 80, of Meadville, PA, passed away Friday, October 4, 2019 at Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community.

Rosy was born in Kerala State, India on January 16, 1939, a daughter of the late Antony and Thresiamma Cheruvathor. On December 26, 1971, Rosy married Varghese Mathew Nalpathanchil.

A native of Pudukad, Kerala State, Rosy was a loving daughter and sister who became a Registered Nurse and worked at Tata Memorial Hospital in Mumbai, India. She would inspire her sisters to also become nurses. In 1976, she emigrated to the United States and began working at the Crawford County Care Center in Saegertown, PA. She worked very hard there for many years and always showed compassion and love to the elderly residents who were in her care. She would retire from CCCC in 2001.

Rosy was a loving mother and her daughters' biggest cheerleader, supporting them no matter what. She was a gifted gardener and enjoyed nature. Her family loved her cooking and miss it to this day! People would be surprised to know she was also an expert juggler. And she had the best laugh.

No matter where you went, people knew Rosy and would always stop to chat with her. She loved animals; her children often marveled at the many stray cats that would come to greet her.

In 1987, she proudly became a U.S. citizen.

She leaves behind her daughters, Jessie Dimovski (Zoran), of Harrisburg, PA, Lucy Nalpathanchil (Jason Neely) of Suffield, CT, two grandchildren, Cormac and Willow, sisters, Annie, Achama, and Thresiamma, all of India, and many nieces and nephews spread around the globe.

In addition to her parents, Rosy was preceded in death by her husband, Varghese Mathew, her sister, Mary, and brothers, Joseph, Francis, and Louis.
 
She was a longtime member of St. Agatha Roman Catholic Church in Meadville.

Family and friends are invited to call from 10-11 AM on Monday, October 6, 2019, at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE, where Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM with Fr. Andrew Boyd, Parochial Vicar, officiating.

Rosy will be laid to rest at St Agatha Cemetery next to her husband. They were married 47 years.
