Ronald G. Ayers

Ronald G. Ayers was born February 23,1955. He left this world peacefully and with grace on August 22, 2015. He is survived by is parents Ronald and Alma Ayers of Paonia, Colorado.

Ronald was a loving and giving father to his three children: Stacey (TJ) Persons of Uncasville, Connecticut, Gary (Lisa) Ayers of Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, and Katey (BJ) Fleischer of Saegertown, Pennsylvania. He was a good and kind brother to: Rick (Carol) Ayers of Coudersport, Pennsylvania, Randy (Kathleen) Ayers of Starford, Pennsylvania, and Eva Ayers of Paonia, Colorado. Ron cherished his grandchildren: Joshua Ayers, Isabella Persons, Gabriel, Charlotte and Liam Ayers, and Wyatt and Wesley Fleischer. He is survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Ronald ran Ol' Ron's Butcher's Shop for over 20 years. Many fond memories and stories will be carried by all the family, friends, and hunters that were lucky to spend time at the shop. He was also a township supervisor and roads master for Summit Township in Potter County Pennsylvania, for 26 years.

Ol' Ron was a friend to all who were blessed to have known him. His quiet nature and hearty love for conversation and story telling will leave him greatly missed over morning coffee in the valley.

Ron was an avid outdoorsman. He found peace on a cool spring morning calling in gobblers with his dear friends or just sitting in the crisp fall woods. He was always eager to teach the respect needed to be a good worthy hunter to the next generation and did this to the very end of his life. His passion for hunting will be carried on for many generations to come by all who love him.

Ron graduated from Union High School in 1973. He was a state ranked cross country runner at the time of his graduation. However, he did not participate in the race because it interfered with hunting season. This uncanny drive to run can be seen in his children and grandchildren.

Ron requested that the services be private but that a dinner be held in his honor at the American Legion Post 192 at a future date yet to be announced.

In lieu of flowers Ron also asked that any memorial contributions be made to Operation Walk Pittsburgh. This can be done online at http://www.operationwalkpgh.org/RAMemorial or by mail to Operation Walk Pittsburgh- 3380 Blvd of the Allies, Ste 270 Pittsburgh, PA 15229.

Arrangements are under the direction of Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 330 Broad St., Saegertown, PA 16433.
