Robert L. Miller

Robert "Bob" L. Miller, 95, of Meadville, passed away Monday, June 9, 2025, at Meadville Medical Center.

Robert was born in Meadville, on December 30, 1929, a son of the late Tony and Nellie (Homitz) Miller.

He married Shirley L. Orr who predeceased him in 2006.

Bob graduated from Meadville High School in 1948, where he took great pride in being Captain of the 1947-48 Basketball Team. He was an avid golfer and loved to bowl. A US Army veteran, Bob served during the Korean War. He retired from Conrail after 32 years of service. He was previously employed by the former American Viscose, Greenville Steel Car, and Struthers Wells. Over the years, Bob was a member of Meadville Eagles, Elks BPO #219, West Mead #2 Fire Hall, VFW Post #2006, and the Meadville Club where he served as secretary-treasurer. He enjoyed following the Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns throughout his life. His greatest joy in life was time spent with his children and grandchildren. He could always make them chuckle and bring a smile to their face. He will be missed.

Bob is survived by two daughters Valorie Bish (Ron), Shelly Burchard (Chris Queale); two sons Greg S. Miller (Monica), Tom Miller (Hope); grandchildren Tara, Trey, Jared, Matt, Gracie; and a nephew David Kimple.

In addition to his parents and wife, Shirley, Bob was preceded in death by a sister Frances Kimple.

Private services will be held at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE, with Fr. Jeff Lucas officiating.

Bob will be laid to rest next to his wife, Shirley, in St. Brigid Cemetery with Military Honors.
