Robert Alan Bowersox

Robert Alan Bowersox, 69, of Guys Mills, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at UPMC-Hamot Medical Center, Erie.

Robert was born in Meadville, on August 30, 1956, a son of the late Dorcy Glen and Ielene (Slingliff) Bowersox.

Two years after his 1975 graduation from the former Randolph High School, Robert entered the US Army and served his country honorably until June 28, 1979. After that he became employed by the former Abex Corporation for a short time before becoming employed as a mechanic for Edinboro University. For most of his working career, Robert was employed as a butcher at H & H Grocery in Saegertown, where he was still working. Robert enjoyed cooking and being outdoors especially deer hunting, turkey hunting, and gardening. He always kept busy and never turned down anyone needing help. He will be missed.

Robert is survived by two sons Michal A. Bowersox and his companion Mary "Missy" L. Blystone of Guys Mills, Robert J. Bowersox and his wife Kathleen of Titusville; grandchildren Kolton Blanchard, Michaela Cooper, twins Michal Alan Bowersox and Isabelle Bowersox, Abigail Bowersox, Zachary Bowersox, Shanelle Bowersox, Travis Smith, Aaron Smith, Johnathan Smith, Sophia Fornal; five great grandchildren Mylie Sue Blanchard, Paisley Cooper, Zayne Bowersox, Tinsley Bowersox, Westen Alder, Joshua Blystone; and his girlfriend Barb Dietz of Saegertown.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by two granddaughters Ashley Bowersox, Madalynn Bowersox; his brother Kenneth Bowersox; and his companion of 26 years, Carol Bonnell.

Family and friends are invited to call from 5-7 PM on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 330 BROAD ST., Saegertown.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 1-5 PM on Sunday, July 5, 2026, at Saegertown American Legion, 755 South St., Saegertown.
