Rick was born in Meadville, on October 8, 1957, the third of four sons born to the late William and Harriet (Hawk) Eddy.
He was married to the love of his life, Nordia (Griffiths) for 25 years; she survives.
Negril, Jamaica was a second home to Rick. He spent winter months there for the last 38 years, and it was there that he earned the nickname of Cowboy, because of his cowboy hat he was often seen wearing. He developed many tight friendships on the island.
An avid reader and outdoors man, Rick was an experienced trapper, hunter, and fisherman. He undeniably was at home in nature. His patience, determination and green thumb gave him ability to grow all types of things. He was a true nurturer of plants, animals and people. He cared deeply for his Rottweilers and cats. He was loyal and caring to his family and friends. Whether he was visiting someone sick, driving others to appointments, comforting those experiencing a loss, or nursing a sick kitten back to health, one could always count on Rick. He was an excellent cook who often provided meals and visited regularly with friends in need. A very proud father and grandfather, Rick loved his family fiercely and was always ready to celebrate family accomplishments. A man of small stature, Rick's heart and personality were larger than life. He will be dearly missed.
In addition to his wife, Nordia, Rick is survived by two daughters Amber Digiacomo (Jason), Terri Eddy; his step son Alex Cabllero; his grandchildren Jace and Reese Digiacomo all of Meadville; his brothers Terry Eddy (Beth) of Johnstown, OH, Gary Eddy (Tammi) of Greenville, Randy Eddy of Meadville; two nephews Chip Eddy of Tipp City, OH and Daniel Eddy of Columbus, OH; his in-laws Eline and Hemerd Griffiths of Jamaica; and many dear friends.
In addition to his parents, Rick was preceded in death by a sister in law Kelly Wheeler; aunts, uncles and many close friends.
