Peter "Pete" S. Severo

Peter "Pete" S. Severo, 92, of Meadville, passed away Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Marquette Hospice House.

Pete was born in Erie, on January 24, 1934, a son of the late Nick and Adele "Lena" (Bruno) Severo.

On July 19, 1958 Pete married Shirley Rowles; she survives.

He was a member of St. Mary of Grace Church.

After 15 years of service, Pete retired from Viking Tool & Gage, Conneaut Lake. He had previously been employed by the former Avtex, formerly known as FMC, for a period of 30 years. A veteran of the Korean Conflict, Pete entered the US Army on March 4, 1954 and served his country honorably until his discharge on December 14, 1955. He was a 1952 graduate of Meadville High School where he enjoyed playing softball, baseball and excelled in basketball. Pete was a lifetime member of the Italian Civic Club (ICC), the Meadville Club, as well as a member of Vernon Central and a former member of the Meadville Elks Club. A sports enthusiast, Pete enjoyed watching all sports. He also enjoyed walking outdoors in the summertime.

In addition to his wife, Shirley, of 68 years, Pete is survived by two children Diane Farren (Mike) of Atlanta, GA, Nicholas "Nick" Severo of Melborne Beach, FL; four grandchildren Kyle Augello, Jordan Severo, Kaylie Rogers (Rhys), Mallory Severo; two great grandchildren Jeff Rogers, Riley Rogers; a sister Gloria Shea of Meadville; a brother Ron Severo (Barbara) of Erie; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a grandson Michael; and a sister Tessie Bird.

Family and friends are invited to call from 3-6 PM on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE, where a scripture service will be conducted at 5:30 PM.

A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at 10 AM at St. Mary of Grace Church, 1085 Water St., Meadville, with Fr. Jeff Lucas, Pastor, officiating.

Pete will be laid to rest in St. Brigid Cemetery.
