Patricia Anne Cervone

Patricia Anne Cervone nee Hoffman (Lombard), 84, of Meadville, PA, died on Tuesday, September 1, 2026. Her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends, and former students will remember her affectionately as a “star” mother, grandmother, aunt and teacher.

Patricia was the first child born to Dorothy Hoffman (nee Holcomb), a working mother, and William Hoffman in 1941. When her mother remarried, Patricia became a second mother to her younger siblings, Mary, Bonnie, Dan, and David.

Despite her caregiver role, Patricia was anything but matronly. She was head majorette in the Meadville Area High School marching band and loved performing in local parades. She had Hollywood starlet blond hair and good looks. Indeed, she competed in the Miss Crawford County pageant, coming in first runner up. After graduating in 1959, she continued glamorous pursuits by flying the world as a TWA flight attendant. Somehow, local boy Robert P. Cervone, persuaded Patricia to abandon the allure of intercontinental travel to raise a family in Meadville. They married in 1964. They had three children, Lisa McFerren, Gia Tebbs, and Robert S. Cervone.

Despite the challenges of raising three miscreants, Patricia managed to learn ballet, tap, and modern dance. In the 1970s, she opened “Dance East” studio at the top of Kennedy Hill Road in Meadville. For decades, she was the premier dance instructor in town, promoting physical and emotional well-being in generations of youth. Patricia not only taught budding stars, she was herself a star. She didn’t become a movie star, like she always wanted, but in the 1980s she became a local star of the stage. She performed as Elvira (“Blithe Spirit”), Truvy (“Steel Magnolias”), and Ms. Hannigan (“Annie”) in the Meadville Community Theater. Her love of theatre also led her and Robert to crucial roles in the restoration of the old Academy Theater in Meadville. In the 1990s, Patricia began practicing yoga and its principles of self-control and inner peace. Retired from dance instruction, she converted the dance studio into “Haven on the Hill” yoga school. As a yoga instructor, she again brought physical and emotional well-being to many students for two decades. During this period, she also traveled extensively including trips to Japan, Holland, France, India, Turkeiy, Peru, and all over the U.S.

The march of time and sickness eventually slowed Patricia’s pace, and in 2014 she moved from Meadville to live with her daughter Gia’s family in Pittsburgh. Nothing, however, ever slowed her pace as a loving grandmother. She gave her five grandchildren, Weston Tebbs, Samual Tebbs, Emilia McFerren, Phoebe Tebbs, and Tessa Cervone, unconditional and unfaltering love until her last day. To them, she was “Super Gram.”

Patricia will join her mother, brother, and husband in the eternal beyond. Her children, grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, friends, and former students know that she will be a “star” there too.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 4, 2026, from 3:30-7:30 PM at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE, where a Scripture Service will be held at 7 PM.

A Mass of Resurrection will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at 9:30 AM at St. Mary of Grace Church, 1085 Water St., Meadville, with Fr. Kyle Seyler, Parochial Vicar, officiating.

Patricia will be laid to rest with her husband, Robert, in St. Brigid Cemetery.
