Mary L. Tenney

Mary L. (Godwin) Tenney, 84, of Venango, passed away Saturday, January 3, 2026, at Rolling Fields.

Mary was born in Meadville, on June 10, 1941, a daughter of the late Roy and Eugenia (Johnson) Godwin.

She married John R. Tenney; he preceded her in death on June 7, 2019.

Mary attended Venango schools and graduated from Cambridge Springs High School. She was a member of the Lutheran Church in Venango. For many years Mary was employed in the housekeeping department of the Bel-Aire Hotel, Erie. Additionally she did domestic work for local families. She enjoyed going to garage sales, thrifting and had a fondness for collecting angels and Coca Cola paraphernalia.

Mary is survived by five children Raymond "Ray" Mattocks (Denise) of Venango, Mark Bell (Kimberly) of Erie, Randy Mattocks (Kellie) of Clymer, NY, Ronald Mattocks (Renee) of Davenport, FL, Malinda (Mattocks) Potosky (Edward) of Saegertown; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and a sister Judy Boyles of Meadville.

She was preceded in death by her siblings.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
