Mary Ann Steinbeck

Mary Ann (Vernier) Steinbeck , age 75, of Meadville passed away peacefully at her home, unexpectedly, on Sunday December 14, 2025.

Mary Ann was born in Meadville on May 17, 1950, the daughter of Sarah (McCurdy) Vernier and the late Henry Vernier.

On December 18, 1971, Mary Ann married Thomas Steinbeck, he preceded her in death April 18, 2022, after nearly 51 years of life together.

She graduated from Meadville Area Senior High and later when on to obtain a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Mary Ann was a department administrator at Allegheny College, and was proud of her 28 year career. However, she was first and foremost an exceptionally loving and caring wife, mother, and grandma. She was known for her unassuming demeanor, quiet generosity and kindness towards everyone. She loved spending time with family, friends, reading, and taking care of her two cats. She was of the Catholic faith- always maintaining a strong belief in prayer and a personal relationship with God. She will be sadly missed, but forever in our hearts and prayers.

She is survived by sons Edward (Stephanie) and Erik (Lauren) Steinbeck; grandchildren Sean, Lyndsey, Ryan and Raegan Steinbeck; siblings Paul Vernier, Donald Vernier and Patricia Koehler, her mother Sarah Vernier, nieces and nephews.

Visitation is from 1-3 PM on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE, where Funeral Services will be held later that day at 5:30 PM with Fr. Jeff Lucas officiating.

Mary Ann will be laid to rest with her husband Thomas in Greendale Cemetery.
