Marlene Louise Braham

March 2, 1936 — December 5, 2025

Naples, FL

Marlene Louise Braham, a loving mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully in Naples, FL on December 5, 2025, at the age of 89. She was born on March 2, 1936, in Saegertown, Pennsylvania, to her caring mother, Mrs. Regina Deitsch and her father Roy.

As a youngster, Marlene shared a special bond with her two older brothers, Donald (Marilyn) and Richard (Jean), spending many hours swimming and boating in Conneaut Lake, where they had their summer home. Marlene took great pride in swimming from Conneaut Lake Park to the other side by the Iroquois Club when she was just 16 years old. Later on, brothers James (Vienna) and Gerald (Michelle) joined the Deitsch family, and their home on Walnut Street became a significant influence on their childhood. Sadly, she was preceded in death by three of her dear brothers, Donny, Dick and Jimmy. Brother Jerry survives.

On June 16, 1956, Marlene married Duane Francis Braham. Their union blessed them with three children: Cindy (Lynn) Braham, Kim (Kerwin) Braham, and Doug (Lauren) Braham. As a mother, Marlene instilled the importance of family traditions in her children's lives, creating lasting memories of holidays and Saturday mornings from their childhood. Her role as a grandmother brought immense happiness to her heart. Marlene cherished her grandchildren, Taylor Moody, Ava, Bridger, and Coen Braham.

Marlene and Duane's love for horses flourished on their farm on Mullen Road in Meadville, PA, where DuMar Stables marked the beginning of many champion Morgan Horses. They took joy in participating in various horse adventures with their children, from 4-H trail rides to grand national horse shows. Together, Marlene and Duane embarked on an incredible journey, establishing Rolling Fields Eldercare Community (Formerly Rolling Fields Nursing Home) in Conneautville, PA. Their shared dedication and passion for providing care and support to the elderly positively impacted countless individuals and families in the community. Marlene and Duane also enjoyed a short stint as restauranteurs – once owning and operating the Little Home Restaurant, the Crossbow Lounge and the fine dining experience at the Ted Mar dining room and cocktail lounge in Cambridge Springs, PA.

After the passing of her husband in 1983, Marlene faced new challenges with resilience and determination. She obtained her Nursing Home Administrator's license to continue operating Rolling Fields, showcasing her unwavering commitment to the well-being of those entrusted to her care before eventually entrusting the day-to-day responsibilities to her children.

Throughout her life, Marlene pursued her passions, making history as the first woman to be inducted into the Iroquois Boating and Fishing Club and the Meadville Country Club. She also co-founded the Meadville Ski Club, where she formed lifelong friendships and delighted in skiing down snow-covered slopes in various destinations. Marlene's nurturing spirit extended beyond her family and career. As a dedicated member of the Spencer Hospital Auxiliary, she found joy in serving others, particularly as the buyer for the gift shop. Her generosity and kindness touched the lives of many, leaving a lasting impact on the community she held dear.

In her twilight years, Marlene found love and companionship with William Clifford Sennett of Erie, PA. Together, they embarked on countless adventures, as they traveled to distant lands, including Ireland, France, China, Australia, and Africa. They reveled in visiting children and grandchildren around the country. It was in September of 2019 that Marlene and Bill decided to officially tie the knot and the Braham Family and Sennett families (Bill (Lynn) Sennett, Tim (Nancy) Sennett, Pat (Becky) Sennett, Mark (Lynn) Sennett, John (Kathleen) Broadbent and Caroline Sennett) became one.

Marlene and Bill’s simple pleasures included traveling to Naples, FL, where they spent their winters playing golf, enjoying the company of fellow bridge players, and savoring meals at their favorite restaurants. One of their cherished rituals was catching the elusive green flash at sunset off their veranda, admiring the serene beauty of the Gulf of Mexico.

Marlene and William's time together was filled with laughter, adventure, and contentment, and they were grateful for the deep connection they had found in each other. They remained each other's steadfast support and constant source of love and comfort until William’s passing in January 2023.  Beyond her accomplishments, Marlene's warm and caring nature endeared her to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
