Mark Anthony Gionti

Mark Anthony Gionti, 67, of Meadville, passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at Edinboro Manor, surrounded by his family.

Mark was born in Meadville, on November 10, 1958, a son of the late Clement "Sonny" and Thomasina "Josephine" (Rinella) Gionti.

He was of the Catholic faith. Mark attended Meadville schools where he was an outstanding wrestler, football player, and talented drummer. In 1972 Mark was involved in an automobile accident which left him confined to a wheelchair. Through the years anyone who crossed Mark's path was taken in by his bright hazel eyes and brilliant smile He had the ability to make anyone feel better just by being with him.

Our family was blessed to have Mark in our lives all these years and he gifted us with the true meaning of patience, kindness and unconditional love.

Mark is survived by a sister Tonimarie Sampson (Doug) of Titusville; three brothers Joseph Gionti (Aliesa) of Titusville, James Gionti (Teresa) of Saegertown, Michael Gionti (Susan) of Meadville; several beloved nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mark was preceded in death by a brother Anthony "Tony" Gionti.

A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Monday, July 13, 2026, at 10 AM at St. Mary of Grace Church, 1085 Water St., Meadville, with Fr. Jeff Lucas officiating.

Mark will be laid to rest in St. Brigid Cemetery, West Mead Twp.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mark's memory to Humane Society of Crawford County, 11012 Kennedy Hill Road, Meadville, PA 16335 or Edinboro Manor, 419 Waterford St., Edinboro, PA 16412.
