Louis H. Severo, 86, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, September 6, 2024 with his loving family and dog, Bella, by his side. Louie was born in Meadville on July 16, 1938. He was a 1957 graduate of Meadville High School. On September 20, 1969 Lou married Marsha K. Bell, she survives.
In 1966 he began his career with Combined Insurance Company. The company’s PMA (Positive Mental Attitude) philosophy became a way of life which Lou was eager to share! While his strong work ethic and achievements earned him countless awards and well deserved recognition, he guided many salespersons to success. At the time of his retirement, Louie was a Sub Regional Manager with Combined.
Lou enjoyed all things automobile! Whether it was his prize collection of model cars or the used car sales business, talking cars is one of the things he enjoyed most. Additionally, he continued to follow his lifelong interest in the sport of boxing. Above all else, Lou’s greatest passion was family! Encouraging and celebrating the many achievements of his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews was always a priority.
In addition to his wife Marsha of 54 years, Lou is survived by 4 children, David Severo (Pam) of FL, John A. Severo (Lorna), Daniel Severo (Lisa), and Marjorie Stewart (Jeremy) all of Meadville; grandchildren John L. Severo, James Severo (Laura), Jessica Schell, Abigail Severo (fiance’ Jake Noa), Alyssa Nairn (Sky), John A. Severo, Jr. (Jordan), Stacey Freund, Jake Freund (Kayla), Ryan Severo (Natosha), Victoria Hungness (Austin), Peyton Kohnen (Joshua), Sophia Stewart, and Ella Stewart; 12 great grandchildren; a sister Catherine Chase (Joseph) of Meadville; and many nieces and nephews.
Lou was preceded in death by his parents, Louis A. and June Severo; a son Louis T. Severo; grandchildren Krystle Miller, Daniel L. Schell, IV; a brother Joseph P. Severo; and daughter in law Terri Severo.
Per Lou’s wishes, private services will be held.
