Lorna Renee Freund

Lorna Renee Freund, 65, of Meadville, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 23, 2026, at home.

She was born in Alamogordo, NM on November 14, 1960, a daughter of the late Roy and Chrystal (Black) Wheeler.

Lorna had been married to Paul Freund.

She was of the Lutheran faith.

Lorna graduated from Saegertown High before attending schools in Uniontown up until 11th grade, where she was a majorette. She began working as an associate for Avco Financial Services and worked her way up to Business Manager. She had also tended bar as various local establishments and for the past ten years, was store manager of Label Shopper in Meadville, having just retired. She was a member of VFW Post #2006, Saegertown American Legion Post #205, and the Italian Civic Club. Lorna enjoyed dancing whenever given the opportunity. A huge Pittsburgh sports fan, Lorna made it difficult to watch a Steelers, Penguins, or Pirates game, because she wouldn't stop yelling at the TV. Whether walking the trails, kayaking, or working in her flower beds, Lorna loved the outdoors. What she loved most in life was being around John, her family, her cats and dogs, and especially her grandchildren. She was very involved in the raising and caring for her most recent grandchild, to the extent of retiring so that she could. She will be most remembered for her very kind and generous spirit as well as for being a loving mother and grandmother. She will be deeply missed.

In addition to her loving companion of 23 years, John Severo, Lorna is survived by two children Stacey Freund of Cochranton, Jake Freund (Kayla) of Guys Mills; John's children who were like her own John Severo (Jordan) U.S. Navy, Alyssa Nairn (Sky) of Meadville; her grandchildren Grady Price, Gage Price, Eric Nairn, Tessa Nairn; a sister Debra Smith (Dennis) of Lexington, SC; her step father Matthew Miller of Brownsville; many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents Roy Wheeler and Chrystal Miller, Lorna was preceded in death by her brother Ronald Clements.

Visitation will be from 4-7 PM on Friday, March 27, 2026, at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE, where Funeral Services will follow at 7 PM with Fr. Kyle Seyler officiating.
