Loretta Woolstrum-Dobos, 79, of Meadville, passed away Friday, August 29, 2025, following a tragic accident.
Loretta was born on July 11, 1946, in Meadville. She was the daughter of the late Raymond and Helen (Styborski) Sherred.
She married Duane Woolstrum on May 22, 1982, and he preceded her in death on May 1, 2017. She subsequently married James Dobos on November 9, 2019; he preceded her in death on February 27, 2023.
Loretta attended Missionary Nursing School in St. Paul, MN, and completed her training at Nyack College. She worked in the maternity ward at Hamot Hospital in Erie, and was also employed by Rosario Nursing Home in Cambridge Springs. Loretta enjoyed gardening, playing the piano, charity work through her church, and spending time with her family. She delighted in spending time with her grandchildren: Grayson, Tristan, Cadence, and Griffin, as well as nine step-grandchildren. Her Christian faith was very important to her, and her Bible was always near and dear to her heart. She was an active member of Pleasantview Alliance Church in Saegertown.
Loretta is survived by her brother Larry Sherred (Lynn) of Cambridge Springs. She is also survived by three children: Lisa Woolstrum of Greensboro, NC, Christine Nunn (Trent) of Cambridge Springs, and Karen Woolstrum (Marco Fazzari) of Pittsburgh; five stepchildren: Alan Dobos (Shayna) of Wheeling, WV, Christopher Dobos (Ayana) of Pittsburgh, Stephen Dobos of Williamsport, Esther Amaya (Walter) of Washington, D.C., Ruth Dobos of New Portland, ME, and a step daughter in law Robyn Dobos of Mill Hall.
Loretta was preceded in death by her brother John Sherred and her stepson Timothy Dobos.
Family and friends are invited to call from 4–7 p.m. on Thursday, September 4, at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville, where the funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 5.

Loretta will be laid to rest in Venango Cemetery.
