Jeffrey "JR" Paul Roberts

Jeffrey "J.R." Paul Roberts, 77 of Meadville, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, September 18, 2025.

Jeff was born in Meadville, on November 5, 1947, a son of the late Edgar John and Mercades "Terry" (Bollman) Roberts.

Jeff graduated from Meadville High School in 1965, where he was Senior Class President. He furthered his education at Kent State University graduating in 1969 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree majoring in Marketing. Jeff was a salesman at heart and had a prosperous sales career. He was also employed by the railroad, retiring in January 2013.

For many years Jeff enjoyed golfing with his good friends every Monday at Venango Valley Golf Course. On July 16, 1994 at Mount Hope Golf Course, Jeff was the FIRST golfer to score a Hole In One on Hole #8, a 210 yard par 3.

Jeff was a Life Member of Taylor Hose Company, Meadville Elks #219 and was a social member of Meadville VFW Post #2006,

Jeff liked to stay active and it always seemed there was a home improvement project in the works. He enjoyed the outdoors and found pleasure doing yard work and was very meticulous about his cars. Jeff will be remembered for his jovial personality, sharp wit and sense of humor as he liked to make people laugh. "If everyone had laughter in their life, the world would be a better place." He had many "True Stories" that were often shared with his friends. He will be sadly missed.

Jeff is survived by his significant other; Linda Chess of Meadville; his daughter Heather A. Young (Eric) of Williamsburg, VA, two grandsons; Tyler Young (Lisa), Alec Young both of Yorktown, VA, his sister; Carol Scavotto (Stephen) of Amelia Island, FL; several nieces, nephews and many close life long friends.

In addition to his parents Jeff was preceded in death by his sister Theresa E. Kelly (Paul).

Per Jeff's request, there will be no visitation, services will be private. Entombment will be in St. Brigid Cemetery. He jokingly referred to his mausoleum as "A room with a view facing the afternoon sun"
