Jeffrey William Byham, 59, passed away on July 4, 2025, at Meadville Medical Center as the result of a tragic motorcycle accident. Jeff leaves behind a legacy marked by both his career and his unwavering commitment to his family and friends.
Jeff was born in Meadville on June, 11, 1966, a son of Barbara J. (Morfenski) Byham and the late William L. Byham. He graduated from Meadville Area Senior High School in 1984 and went on to forge a career with Demco Inc., a prominent demolition company. He took pride in his work, particularly in handling some of the most dangerous aspects of the demolition process. Among his career highlights was his involvement in the notable demolition of the old Cleveland Browns Stadium, which underscored his skill and bravery in the field. Everyone saw Jeff's potential. From family members who passed the baton to Jeff taking over the family paper route when he was just 11 years old he knew the value of hard work. To Jan Day, creator of the Meadville Cooperative Preschool that Jeff attended in the 1960s who followed his journey through life, she knew he possessed special kindness and love.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Jeff was known for his infectious smile and generous spirit. He possessed a heart of gold and lived each day with the intention of helping others. His readiness to lend a hand to family and friends with any projects they needed assistance with was a testament to his character. To know him was to love him. Jeff was proud to play an instrumental role in the renovation of his sister Christine Yamrick's businesses Chateau Christine and Bulldog Sports, which were part of the Chestnut Street revitalization.
An avid motorcyclist, Jeff loved the thrill of riding and cherished the time spent with family and friends. He was also known to take time off to enjoy a day of fishing, camping and going to any classic rock concerts.
Jeff is survived by his daughter, Brooke C. Byham Jaram (Ron) of Pittsburgh; his mother, Barbara J. Byham; his sister, Christine M. Yamrick (Joseph); his brother, Charles E. Byham (Diana) all of Meadville; his niece, Madison M. Byham; stepdaughter, Tristen Grindstaff (Nicholas) of Meadville; step grandchildren, Blake and Benjamin Jaram; and step nieces, Gracie and Lily Welch.
