Jason Andrew Wentz, 48, of Guys Mills, passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2020, at VA Hospital HJ Heinz Campus.

Jason was born in Red Bank, NJ on October 4, 1971, a son of Andrew and the late Arlene (Huys) Wentz.

On October 21, 1995 Jason married Tracy H. Bassillo; she survives.

Jason was employed by the US Postal Service as a letter carrier in Oil City and had previously been employed by the Morrisville Post Office. A 1990 graduate of Henry Hudson High School in Highlands, NJ; he went on to honorably serve his country as a member of the US Marine Corps. Jason had a wide variety of interests which included cooking, deer hunting, mushroom foraging and traveling. He had a passion for genealogy which led him to Slovakia for family research. Additionally he enjoyed geocaching, was a brew master, and was multlingual. He will be sadly missed.

In addition to his wife Tracy of 24 years, Jason is survived by three children Hans L. Wentz, Heidi N. Wentz, Holly N. Wentz all of Guys Mills; his father Andrew Wentz of Orlando, FL; a sister Jessica Wentz of Turkey; three half sisters Kristy, Sabrina, Erica; and a half brother Eric.

He was preceded in death by his mother Arlene Wentz.

Private services will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Friends of the Pittsburgh Fischer House, 3945 Forbes Ave., PO Box 240, Pittsburgh, PA 15213.
