Janet R. Roberts

Janet R. Roberts, 86, of Saegertown, passed away Monday, June 15, 2020, at Meadville Medical Center.

Janet was born in Kennard, on December 27, 1933, the youngest of nine children of the late Alpha and Blanche (Williamson) Ray.

On August 29, 1953 Janet married Donald L. Roberts. They were high school sweet hearts and the love of each other's lives; he survives.

She was a very active and devoted member of Saegertown United Methodist Church where she served as former treasurer.

Janet was a 1952 graduate of Penn High School in Greenville. In her younger days Janet was employed by the former Montgomery Wards, Chicago Bridge and Iron Works both in Greenville and Pennbank. For many years following, she did bookkeeping for her husband's former business, Arro Forge, Inc. Janet was a member of Saegertown Women's Improvement Club, Saegertown Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary and The Red Hat Society. Janet enjoyed being outdoors, bird watching, working in her yard and flower gardens. She also enjoyed playing board games as well as playing cards. Her greatest joy in life was time spent with family. She will be deeply missed.

In addition to her husband, Donald, of 66 years, Janet is survived by four children Timothy Roberts of Saegertown, Kimberly McCutcheon (Jim) of Franklin, Steven Roberts (Charese) of Mercer, Gene Roberts (Brenda) of Whispering Pines, NC; seven grandchildren Tom Roberts, Alyssa Roberts, Ryan McCutcheon, Melissa McCutcheon, Jody Roberts, Katie (George) Reiss, Cody Roberts, one great grandson Liam Oliver Harton, a brother Donald Ray of Kennard, numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by sisters Eleanor Mitchell, Doris Crist, Norma Youngs, Wanda Pederson, Martha Vaughn, brothers Reed Ray and Chuck Ray.

While following CDC guidelines for social distancing and mask wearing, visitation will be held from 5-7 PM on Friday, June 19, 2020, and on Saturday, June 20, 2020 from 10-12 at Saegertown United Methodist Church, 620 Euclid Ave., Saegertown, where Funeral Services will follow at 12 PM with Pastor Jeff Little officiating. For those not able to attend, we ask that you be present in prayer. The service will be live streamed via our Facebook page (Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc.)

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Saegertown United Methodist Church, PO Box 689, Saegertown, PA 16433.
