James O. Heald ("Jim") of California, MD, and formerly of Meadville, PA, passed away at home with his wife and twin daughters by his side. He was born in Meadville on March 19, 1945, a son of the late Stanley Floyd Heald and Ruth Dana (Lamb) Heald of Saegertown.
On October 16, 1976, Jim married Margaret Bluxome, she survives.
A 1963 graduate of Saegertown High School, Jim excelled in basketball and golf, winning the District 10 golf championship in his senior year. In January 1965, Jim enlisted in the U.S. Army and honorably served his country in Vietnam. He previously worked as a UPS driver before starting an almost 40-year career with DAD's Dog Foods, Inc. He retired from DAD's in 2008. He and Margaret spent several winters in Florida enjoying the sunshine, golf, and the ocean.
Affectionately known as "Spots", Jim was a life member of the Venango Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 169 and a life member of Elks (B.P.O.E #219) of Meadville. He was a former member of the Taylor Hose Co. and the Meadville Country Club where he served on the board of directors and as secretary to the President. Most notably, Jim was an excellent golfer, winning the Club Championship multiple times. He was a great competitor.
In addition to his loving wife of 48 years, Margaret, Jim is survived by his daughters, Laurie Heald Sinisi (Danny) of Hollywood, MD and Anne Margaret Heald of California, MD; his cherished granddaughter, Audrina Grace Sinisi; brother Larry Kay Heald of Meadville; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his brother Martin Russell Heald of Saegertown, and his sister, Priscilla Lee Mays of White Plains, MD.
Jim's family would like to acknowledge his heartfelt caregivers of the last eight years, Angela Kaufman of Cochranton, PA; Carlene Butler and Shameka Pringle of Southern Maryland.
Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life Service from 3-5:30 PM, on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at the Meadville Country Club, 15955 State Street, Meadville.
