Jack Edward Acker, 82, passed away on March 22, 2026.
Jack was the son of the late John Henry Acker and Hazel Fern (Battles) Acker.
Born on June 22, 1943, Jack was the youngest of six children. His siblings, Beatrice Shorts, James Acker, Marian Ferguson, Kenneth Acker, and Lois Moore as well as twin daughters preceded him in death.
Jack was born and raised in Saegertown, PA. He enjoyed tinkering with lawn mowers and taking care of his lawn. Jack looked forward to getting his El Camino out each summer as well as sitting in the breezeway while enjoying a beer and watching the traffic go by. He loved spending time with his family.
He married Phyllis Schlosser, on May 29, 2004. She survives. Jack and Phyllis had a great life together.
Jack loved helping others. He was a true handy man and could fix most anything. He retired from Seco Warwick, the former Sunbeam Corp., where he worked for more than 40 years. He believed in working hard for everything he had.
He is survived by three beautiful daughters from his first marriage. Diana (Dan) Householder, Mary (Robbie) Mitchell, and Christine (Patric) Wiggins. Jack was very blessed with bonus children when he married his second wife, Russell (Wanda) Barr, Michael (Christine) Barr and Timothy (Jodi) Barr, as well as Phyllis’s children, Alvey (Billie Jo) Lester and Ann (Darren) Giles. He is also survived by grandchildren, Brandon Stokes, Chanda Jones, Katelynn Stokes, Dillan Householder, Sadie Evans, Carter Mitchell, Mattie Eddy, Garrett Mitchell, Jessica Wiggins, Patric Joel Wiggins, Jordan Wiggins, Abigail Sanofsky, Trevor, Brittany, Zackery, and Emily Barr. Jared and Tylar Barr, Dante Barr, Josie Thompson, Dalton Lester, Maxwell Giles, Joe Shaw, Sarah Kralj, Rachael Henry and Jessica Ashbaugh as well as several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on June 20, 2026, at Hayfield Fire Dept. The time will be announced.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hayfield Volunteer Fire Department, Yolanda G Barco Oncology Institute, or Littles Corners Methodist Church.
