Irene C. Sexton

Irene C. Sexton, 95, of Meadville, passed away Friday, February 25, 2022 at home.

Irene was born in Meadville, on May 15, 1926, a daughter of the late Walter and Katherine (Gruber) Jastromb.

She was a member of First Baptist Church.

After 23 years of service, Irene retired from National Teltronics. She had previously been employed by the former Talon, Inc. and former A & P Supermarket. Irene enjoyed being a homemaker and raising her four children plus her nephew whom she also raised as her own. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Irene is survived by four sons Terry Sexton (Debbie) of Leatsdale, Timothy Sexton, Sr., Daniel Sexton (Alison) both of Meadville, Thomas Szelenski (Barb) of Mill Village; a son in law Ken Brunot of Meadville; 14 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; a brother Theodore "Ted" Jastromb Sr. of Meadville; many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Irene was preceded in death by a daughter Melanie Brunot; a grandson Matthew Brunot; four sisters Sophie Gibbons, Viola Snow, Stella Szelinski, Anna Jastromb; a brother Chester Jastromb; two sisters in law Belva Jastrom, Thelma Jastromb; three brothers in law Clarence Gibbons, George Snow, and Frank Szelinski.

Per Irene's wishes, services will be private with Pastor Jerry Walton of First Baptist Church officiating.

Irene will be laid to rest in St. Brigid Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Irene's memory to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
