Glendon L. Harry

Glendon L. Harry, 88, of Cochranton, passed away Saturday, August 29, 2026 at home, surrounded by his family.

He was born March 31, 1938, at home, in Deckards, to the late Lloyd C. and Hazel M. (Peters) Harry.

On September 18, 1959, Glendon married Phylis A. McCartney; she survives.

Glendon graduated from Cochranton High School in 1956. A US Army veteran, he served his country honorably for six years, working as a Cryptographer. He worked twenty-six years at Avtex Fibers in Meadville and was a supervisor in Temperature Control and Carbon Recovery. Following the closing of the plant, he worked for UCIP as Director of Building and Grounds in Crawford, Venango, and Clarion Counties.

A lifelong member of the NRA, he was also a member of ARE, Cochranton Fire Department, and AARP. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working in his garden. His family was the most important thing in his life; he loved them all very much and that love was returned to him.

In addition to his wife Phylis, of nearly 67 years, Glendon is survived by two children Daniel L. Harry (Judi), Diane M. Bell (Randal); five grandchildren Kristen Snyder (Josh), Stephanie Ward (Chris), Katherine Harry (Sarah), Amy Hostetler, Luke Harry (Christina); eleven great grandchildren Natalie, Gabrielle, Aslan, and Eleanor Snyder, Mark, Matthew, John, Naomi, and James Harry, Blakely and Brooks Hostetler; many nieces and nephews.

Private services will be held at Peters Cemetery with Full Military Honors by VFW Post #2006.
