Georgianna Jean Schutz

Georgianna Jean Schutz, 77, of Meadville, passed away Thursday, January 15, 2026, at home surrounded by her family.

Georgianna was born in Rome, NY on January 31, 1948, a daughter of the late George and Laurel (Miller) Sholes.

On March 23rd, 1978 Georgianna married Walter Edward Schutz; he survives.

Georgianna retired after more than twenty years of service as a licensed practical nurse, primarily at Wesbury and SCI Cambridge Springs. She enjoyed being a homemaker, cooking and baking for her family. Her green thumb could make any sick plant healthy again. Georgianna was gifted with the ability to play the piano by ear, and delighted in playing at family gatherings. She also enjoyed attending craft shows, especially the Shaker Woods Festival in Ohio, with her daughter Tabatha. Laughing, telling stories and spending time with family made her unforgettable. She will be missed.

In addition to her husband, Walter, Georgianna is survived by five children Bradley Weaver (Amy), Douglas Schutz (Brandi) both of Meadville, Crystal Brest (Armais) of Hermitage, Walter "Bud" Schutz, Jr., Diane Gulland (John) both of Meadville; seventeen grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Georgianna was preceded in death by two children Tabatha Lou Stivason, Gregory Allen Weaver and a brother Edward Sholes.

Visitation is from 11 AM-1 PM on Monday, January 19, 2026, at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE, where Funeral Services will follow at 1 PM with Rev. Ben Black of First Presbyterian Church officiating.

Georgianna will be laid to rest in Kiser Hill Cemetery.
