Frank Dronko

Frank Dronko, 94, of Meadville, passed away Monday, January 19, 2026, at Marquette Hospice House.

Frank was born in Albion, on January 1, 1932, a son of the late John and Stella (Pazdziorko) Dronko.

On April 7, 1956, Frank married Mary J. Barry; she predeceased him on August 4, 2006. Subsequently he married Sylvia Lyons on August 21, 2010, she survives.

He was a member of St. Agatha Church.

Frank was a 1951 graduate of Meadville High School. A veteran of the US Air Force, Korean Conflict, Frank served his country honorably from January 8, 1951 until January 7, 1955. He attained the rank of sergeant and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. Frank retired from General Electric on November 1, 1988. Additionally he owned and operated F & M Upholstery for many years. Over the years, Frank was a member of VFW Post #2006, Saegertown American Legion Post #205, Cambridge Springs American Legion Post #381, and Venango VFW Post #169. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, camping, excursions on float trips and wintering in Florida. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, especially his little sparkle, Tessa. Frank blessed his family with love, support, laughter, and joy for life. His quick wit and humor will be missed by many and he always said, "Glad you got to meet me."

Frank is survived by five children Tina Hunt (Gary) of Aiken, SC, Sondra Hunter (Arden), Roxane Hershelman (Randall) both of Saegertown, PA, Timothy Dronko of AR, Gregory Dronko of TN; eleven grandchildren Wesley Hunt (Lauren), Stephanie Oakley (Joey), Clarissa Bayhurst (Pat), Brian Hunter (Libby Clement), Emmit, Owen, and Paige Hershelman, Jessica McKinney (Matt), Jennifer Milligan (Matt), Timothy Dronko, Jr. (Sara), John Dronko; eleven great grandchildren; a sister Jane Southworth of FL; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents and first wife, Mary, Frank was preceded in death by a sister Joan Black and a brother Edmund Dronko.

Family and friends are invited to call from 4-7 PM on Friday, January 23, 2026, at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE.

A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 10 AM on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at St. Agatha Church, 353 Pine St., Meadville, with Fr. Jeff Lucas, Pastor, officiating. Full Military Honors by VFW Post #2006 will follow.

Frank will be laid to rest in St. Agatha Cemetery.
