Evelyn “Joy” Tepley Miller, 88, of Meadville, who loved the Lord deeply and faithfully, went home to be with Him on Thursday, May 14, 2026.

Joy was born at home in Meadville on June 20, 1937, a daughter of the late Carson and Helen (Bollinger) Porter.

In February of 2001, Joy married William "Bill" Miller, who survives. Together they shared companionship, faith, and love.

Joy was a devoted and active member of New Beginnings Church, where she especially enjoyed being part of Laura’s Ladies. Her faith was the foundation of her life and sustained her through both joyful seasons and profound hardships. She was known for her warmth, resilience, gentle wisdom, and unwavering love for her family.

Joy found great fulfillment in baking, caring for others, and creating a home where people felt welcomed and loved. She carried herself with quiet strength and grace, even through unimaginable loss. Having endured the heartbreaking deaths of both a son and a daughter during her lifetime, she remained steadfast in her faith and commitment to her family, becoming an example of perseverance and enduring love.

She leaves behind a family who loved her deeply and will carry forward the lessons, faith, and strength she instilled in them.

In addition to her husband Bill, Joy is survived by her three daughters, Charmaine Brink Smith (Ronald) of Austinburg, OH, Debbie Brink of Cuyahoga Falls, OH, and Lou Ann Wermlinger Simmons (Murray) of Akron, OH; six grandchildren, Tammy Meholick, Jennifer Hocutt, Veronica O’Conner, Luke Widlaw, Dylan Simmons, and Seth Miklovic (whom she raised). Seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bill Porter (Connie) of Austin, TX, and Danny Porter (Diane) of Virginia; along with many beloved nieces and nephews.

Joy was preceded in death by her siblings, Francis Ritenour, Lois McGrath, Patricia Heffern, Nancy Brink; children, William "Billy" Brink and Julia Wermlinger Conner; and a great-grandson, Garret Hocutt.

Family and friends are invited to call on Monday, May 18, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 404 Chestnut Street, Meadville, where a Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00 PM.

Joy will be laid to rest in Saegertown Cemetery, Saegertown, PA.

Though her family grieves her absence deeply, they rejoice in the promise of eternal life and take comfort in knowing she is now reunited with loved ones gone before her and resting peacefully in the presence of her Savior.
