Eloise "Elly" M. Phelps Heisey Tokarcik, 85, of Meadville, passed away Friday, April 1, 2022, at home.

Elly was born at home in Union City on December 16, 1936, a daughter of the late Francis R. and Marie Jeanette (Wise) Phelps.

On May 30, 1986 Elly married Alexander "Alex" J. Tokarcik; he preceded her in death on February 17, 2011. She had previously been married to William Heisey, who passed away on December 8, 2017.

She was of the United Methodist Faith and also attended St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church with her husband Alex and his mother Mary.

Over the years Elly had been employed by several area former restaurants including Sandalini's for 10 years, Don David's for 10 years, Gotto's, the Porto Call, the Hour Glass, the Willow Tavern and Tracy's Restaurant. A 1953 graduate, Elly's was the last graduating class of Bloomfield High School. She was a member of Vernon Twp. Volunteer Fire Dept. Auxiliary and a social member of the American Legion Post 111. She enjoyed being a homemaker, cooking, cleaning, gardening sewing and making alterations. She loved to crochet and shared her passion and talent by making more than 55 afghans for the residents of the Soldier's and Sailor's Home in Erie.

Elly is survived by four children Darlene Straw of Greenville, William Heisey III, Robert "Bob" Heisey both of Meadville, Markle Heisey and his companion Sharleen of Conneautville, two stepchildren John A. Tokarcik (Patty) of Milton, FL, Alicia Tokarcik companion Mike of Pittsburgh, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, step grandchildren, two sisters Nellena Daniels (Jim) of Cambridge Springs, Jeanie McClain of Centerville, several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband Alex of 24 years and her parents, Elly was preceded in death by a son Jeffrey Nelson Heisey, a son in law Doug Straw and a stepdaughter Mary Johnston.

A Memorial Service will be held at 7 PM on Monday, April 11, 2022, at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE, with Pastor Dave Acker officiating.

Elly will be laid to rest in Evergreen Cemetery, Harmonsburg.
