Eleanor Niewiedomski, 98, formerly of 1132 Belmont Drive, Meadville, passed away Sunday, December 20, 2020, at the Crawford County Care Center, Saegertown.

Eleanor was born in Meadville, on February 7, 1922, a daughter of the late Joseph and Victoria (Kotowski) Niewiedomski.

She was a life long member of St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church where she was a member of the Altar Rosary Society.

Eleanor retired from the Personnel Office of the former Spencer Hospital in March of 1987. She graduated from the former St. Brigid Parochial School in 1934 and from Meadville High School in 1938.

Eleanor is survived by many cousins including Janusz Kowalewski, who was like a brother, his wife Nancy of Tampa, FL their daughters Ann E. "Annie" Kowalewski of Washington, DC, Jacqueline A. "Jackie" Kowalewski of Tallahassee, FL; Joan Reynolds and her husband Russell of New Haven, CT. Christine Czapleski Hohler of Pittsburgh, Thomas Czapleski and his wife Michelle of Oviedo, FL, and John Czapleski of Destin, FL.

In addition to her parents Eleanor was preceded in death by her sister Maryanne Niewiedomski whom she lived with and a brother Theodore J. Niewiedomski, killed in action in July of 1944, during WW II.

Due to Covid-19 a private blessing will take place. Please remember Eleanor in your prayers.

Eleanor will be laid to rest with her family in St. Brigid Cemetery.
