Donald Carl Haemer, beloved husband of 53 years to Mary Ann Haemer, passed away at home on July 8, 2025.
He is survived by his wife Mary Ann, sons Carl (Casey), Ben (Tonia), daughter Heather (Christina), granddaughters Raeden and McKayla, sisters Judy and Christy, brothers in law John, Jeff, Lonnie and David, sisters-in-law Nancy, Trinia, Kris and Kathy and many dear cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Conrad and Joyce, father and mother-in-law John and Esther Holowid, brother-in-law Dennis, and brothers David and Mark.
Donald loved his family and lived by that virtue. You would often see him riding his John Deere throughout the neighborhood (sometimes a family competition). His home was his castle and another pride and joy, having built his forever home on the family’s property on Haemer Hill and the old Brookhouser Farm. He also loved hunting, especially when he did so with his boys (and even his girls). Spending time with his family and friends was his greatest passion. He loved watching Jeopardy, reading, playing cards and dominoes and traveling to his and Mary Ann’s favorite places, Chincoteague, South Carolina, Daytona Beach and North Port, to enjoy quality time with family and friends. He was a lifelong learner and teacher both for his family and all of the students and others that had the opportunity to cross his path.
Private services were held at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 330 BROAD ST., SAEGERTOWN.
Memorial contributions may be made in Don's memory to Brookhouser Cemetery C/O Mary Ann Haemer, 18197 Grange Center Rd., or Saegertown Volunteer Fire Dept., PO Box 164, both in Saegertown, PA 16433.
