Dominic J. Mottillo, 73, of Meadville, passed away suddenly Monday, March 16, 2026, at home.
Dominic was born in Meadville, on July 8, 1952, a son of the late Anthony and Jeanne (Calvert) Mottillo.
In May of 1979 Dominic married Georgia Keppler.
He was a life long member of St. Mary of Grace Church.
Born and raised in Meadville, Dominic had fond memories of growing up in "little Italy" where all the neighborhood kids played endlessly at the former Athletic Park on lower Walnut Street. He was steadfast proud of his Italian heritage. Dominic was a 1970 graduate of Meadville High School. He had worked heavy construction and roofing and retired from Labors Union #964 in 2005. Dominic had a passion for cooking and he loved following the Cleveland Browns and New York Yankees. In his younger years he played softball with the original All Points League and Sertoma League where he was a strong pitcher. A people person with a charismatic and funny personality, Dominic treasured the good friends he had. He had a deep love for his family and will be missed.
Dominic is survived by two sons Dominic A. Mottillo (Kim) of Elizabethtown, Zachary J. Mottillo (fiance' Jeniffer) of Mentor, OH; three grandchildren Dominic and Rocco of Elizabethtown, Kaydynce of Mentor, OH; a sister Arlene Ziccardi (Joseph) of Conneaut Lake; two brothers Mike Mottillo of Wolcott, CO, Joseph Mottillo of Grand Junction, CO; Peyton Shay who was like a son, his former wife Georgia; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Dominic was preceded in death by a son George Mottillo.
Visitation is from 3-5 PM on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE, where a Memorial Service will follow at 5 PM with Fr. Jeffrey Lucas officiating.
Dominic will be laid to rest in St. Brigid Cemetery.
