Diane Lynn Malady

Diane Lynn Malady, age 58, of N. Main Street Ext., Meadville, PA, unexpectedly passed away on January 8, 2024.

She was born November 4, 1965, in Oil City, PA to the late Matthew F. and Lois M. (Karl) Budzinski.

She married William A. “Bill” Malady, Jr. on November 26, 2016.

Diane graduated from Cochranton High School in 1983, as Valedictorian of her class. In 1987, she earned a B.S. Degree in Finance from The Pennsylvania State University in University Park PA; and in 1996, an MBA in Finance from Loyola University of Chicago, graduating with honors from both. Diane was an accomplished strategic business and sales executive in the mortgage and banking industry. She was previously employed SVP, Sales and Marketing at Inside Valuation Partners, LLC, Reno, NV; SVP Strategic Initiatives at Core Logic, Santa Ana, CA; Senior Vice President, Solutions Advocate at First American Corp; Appraisal Manager at Bank of Boston Mortgage Corp/Trans Ohio Saving Bank. She was recognized with numerous awards throughout her career.

Diane was a member of the Mortgage Bankers Association, Risk Management Association, Alpha Phi International Sorority, and a lifetime member of the Penn State University Alumni Association.

Diane was an active volunteer with various non-profit organizations in the community. She served as Marketing Chairperson of the Academy Theater Foundation Board, Wing Member of the Academy Theater, and current President of the Meadville Garden Club. In partnership with The Garden Club, the Baldwin-Reynolds House and Museum, and grounds were preserved. Diane was deeply committed to and loved the bi-annual Trees of Christmas, which she headed to benefit this effort. Diane also volunteered for the Crawford County Coalition, Habitat For Humanity International, and served as a Penn State University mentor. Following the passing of her mother in 2021, Diane led the Blanket Project, which donated more than 1,000 quilts to provide warmth and compassion to those in need. She cherished the time spent with her mother prior to her passing. Diane enjoyed flower gardening, antiquing, decorating, reading, playing cards, traveling both domestically and internationally, walking and spending time with her dog, and keeping in touch with her family and friends, whom she loved dearly. She was also an avid Penn State football and Dallas Cowboys fan.

Diane was of the Presbyterian faith; her faith was reflected in her service to others, her kindness, love and generosity. Whenever we see tulips or hydrangeas, her favorite flowers, we think of her. Her laughter turned ordinary moments into memorable ones. Diane touched the lives of many and left this world a better place.

Diane is survived by her husband, William A. “Bill” Malady Jr., a daughter Kailey (Caleb) Olsen of Newport, VT; a son, William A. Malady, III, of Pittsburgh, PA; one brother, Thomas (Janell) Budzinski Brooks of Denver, CO, and two sisters, Ruthann (Lance) Sheeder of New Bern, NC; and Betty Budzinski of Dallas Texas.
