Derek Christopher Holden, 39, of Conneaut Lake, passed away Thursday, July 2, 2026, at Meadville Medical Center, Meadville.
Derek was born in Landstuhl, Germany, on May 24, 1987, the oldest of eight children born to Kevin Troy and Pamela Jean (McClellan) Holden.
On June 26, 2010, Derek married Rachael Maral Johnson; she survives.
Following his home schooled education, he went on to serve his country honorably as a member of the US Amy Infantry, in a Stryker unit. Following his service, Derek attended and graduated in 2012 with a Bachelor's Degree from Geneva College, where he met his wife. Derek was employed as a Data Analyst for Denali Consulting Group, LLC. His hobbies included shooting and exploring the outdoors. He had a deep appreciation for nature and animals. Derek was a responsible, natural born leader who immediately earned the respect of anyone who knew him. He will be most remembered as a great husband and father.
In addition to his wife Rachael, of 16 years, Derek is survived by seven children Mia, Olivia, Natalie, Sophia, Kaylie, Lydia, Erik; his parents Kevin Troy and Pamela Jean Holden; his siblings Cynthia ( Richard Davis), Jerod (Gabby), Alex, Nick (Angelica), Kalista (Jaen Bebout), Joseph, Isaac; many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to call from 11 AM - 1 PM on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at Pleasantview Alliance Church, 16233 State Hwy. 86, Saegertown, where Funeral Services will follow at 1 PM with Larry Garrison officiating. Full Military Honors will be held.
Arrangements are under the direction of STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE.
