Debra Burnett

With hearts full of love and sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved Debra Burnett, 69, of Meadville, who entered eternal rest on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at Meadville Medical Center, surrounded by the warmth of care.

Born on August 29, 1955, in the radiant glow of San Diego, California, Debra was the cherished daughter of the late Francis “Frank” and Doris (Watson) Boynton, who surely welcomed her into heaven with open arms, along with her brother, Tom Boynton. Debra was married to her friend Edward Burnett.

A proud 1973 graduate of Meadville Area High School, Debra devoted herself to her family, working with love and care at places like Sally Beauty Supplies, Big Lots, Hair By Dallas, Days Inn, and Meadville Medical Center. Her true gift was her talent for decorating, turning her home into a warm sanctuary, adorning her apartment building with beauty, and sharing her creativity as part of the decorating committee at St. John’s Church. Debra’s heart and home were always open, embracing her sons’ friends as her own and becoming a nurturing mother figure to many. Her love for her boys, Timothy and Terrance, was boundless, rivaled only by her tender affection for her cats. She will forever be remembered for her selfless heart, her deep empathy that touched everyone she met, her endless curiosity to learn something new, and her unwavering devotion to her family. Debra’s absence leaves an ache in our hearts, and she will be deeply missed.

Debra’s love continues to shine through her surviving family: her adored sons, Timothy Boynton (Julie) of Westerville, Ohio, and Terrance Boynton (Julie) of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; her precious grandchildren, Isaiah and Brianna Boynton, who filled her days with joy; her dear sister, Rebecca Lucas of Richwood, Ohio; her beloved nephew, Noah James Lucas; and her sons’ loving parents-in-law, Gary and Karen Lynde of Franklin, and Jean-Marc and Line Girardin of Miami, Florida.

Family and friends are warmly invited to gather and share memories of Debra’s beautiful life on Saturday, July 26, 2025, from 10 to 11 AM at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 404 Chestnut Street, Meadville. A heartfelt Home Going Service will follow at 11 AM, celebrating the light she brought to us all.

Debra will be gently laid to rest in Greendale Cemetery, where her spirit will forever bloom in our hearts.
