David Ardine Porfilio

David Ardine Porfilio, 66 of Charlotte, NC, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 11, 2026.

David was born in Meadville on August 18, 1959, to the late Ardine (Buck) Porfilio and Joyce Richards Porfilio.

David graduated from MASH in 1978. After graduation he moved to Raleigh, NC where he spent two years. He then moved to Charlotte where he built a life as a maintenance/handy man. There wasn’t much he couldn’t fix and often helped his friends, family, and neighbors with projects.

David is survived by his daughter Amanda Algood (David); grandchildren Sloane and Klein Algood; older brother Richard Porfilio (Yvonne) of Harmonsburg; and his little brother Tony Porfilio (Cheryl) of Monroe, NC.

Dave enjoyed trips to the beach, live music, spending time with friends and family, and cherished time spent with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by twin half brothers Ronald and Richard Porfilio, and a half sister Cheryl Anne Dove. David was a daredevil who rode motorcycles his entire life.

He pulled for the Steelers as well as the Panthers and loved to watch Tarheel basketball whenever they played. David was an animal lover and took his dog Jersey Girl with him almost everywhere he went.

The family will announce plans for a memorial service at a later date.
