David Jordan Pierce

David Jordan Pierce, 88, passed Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at Crawford County Care Center.

David was born in McKeesport, on February 21, 1935, a son of the late Rev. Homer and Enid (Sutherland) Pierce.

He served in the US Navy as an AO from 1952 to 1960 with VF33. He graduated WV Wesleyan with a degree in political science and worked for the Social Security Administration first as a Field Rep in Clarksburg, WV, then as a manager in Alexandria, VA, and then as assistant district manager in Erie, from 1975 to 1983.

He was preceded in death by his son William A. Pierce of Las Vegas, NV; his second wife Connie (Spear) of Dade City, FL; and brother Bill of State College.

Surviving are his sons Michael J. of Fairview and David S. (Heidi) of Millcreek; grandchildren Heather (Brian) Britton of Edinboro, Katie (fiance Franco Zallo) Pierce of Ellwood City, and Ellis (Nathaniel Freed) of Erie; four great grandchildren Jaxson, Jase, Jameson and Aislynn of Edinboro.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in his name to any animal shelter.
