David Lee Jenkins, 74, of Edinboro, passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday, September 22, 2025.
He was born on November 1, 1950, in Cleveland, OH, the son of the late David L. Jenkins and Marcelline E. (Walker) Jenkins.
David served honorably in the United States Army as a military police officer in Korea from 1969 to 1971. He earned an undergraduate degree in meteorology from Penn State Behrend and Edinboro University.
David dedicated many years of his career working as a chemical operator at BASF until his retirement. He took great pleasure in golfing, fishing, listening to classic blues and jazz concerts, and was a passionate Cleveland Browns fan.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Maria, to whom he was married for 36 years; his children, David Lee Polk of Akron, Ohio; Leroy Marcellus Jenkins of Edinboro; and Marília Charisse Jenkins of Edinboro. He is also survived by his sisters, Aleda Bass of Meadville; Reverend Dr. Darlene Jenkins of Aurora, CO; and Beverly Jenkins of Commerce City, CO. He is also survived by his six grandchildren, four great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and cousins who loved him dearly.
David was preceded in death by his brothers Leroy Marcellus Jenkins and Gregory Darnell Jenkins, and sister Brenda Louise Jenkins. His loss leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew him, and he will be profoundly missed by his entire family and friends.
Visitation is from 11 AM-1 PM on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE, where Funeral Services will follow at 1 PM.
David will be laid to rest in Greendale Cemetery.
