Daniel F. Souther, 69 of Espyville, went home to his Lord and Savior Saturday, August 4, 2018.
Born in Akron, Ohio January 16, 1949, he was the son of the late J.D. Souther and Vegie & Ben Sayer.
A graduate of East High School, Akron, Oh, he worked at Monarch Rubber, Hartville, Ohio, before going into business and moving to Georgia. Retiring in 2012, he briefly enjoyed life on the Tennessee River before a desire to be closer to family brought him to Espyville, Pennsylvania.
He is survived by the love of his life and soulmate of 49 years, Elizabeth (Lisa) Swartzfager. In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter, Rachelle Souther Lundy, son-in-law Alan Lundy, and granddaughter Charlotte Anne of Guyton, Georgia as well as step grandsons Todd Lundy, (Kathy) and grandson John of Alabama and Mike Lundy of Florida.
He also leaves behind a sister, Sandi Butler (Jim), and nephews Monty and Michael Butler. A brother, Ben Sayer, (Linda), and nephews Aaron and Brian Sayer, all from Ohio. Brothers & sisters-in-law who loved him are Larry & Ruth Spencer, Audrey Boyle, Evelyn Camasi, Sam & Pat Swartzfager, Wilk Swartzfager, Bruce & Cindy Swartzfager, John & Trinia Holowid, Mike & Linda Swartzfager and Robert Swartzfager. Dan was also blessed with 37 nieces & nephews, 40 3/4 great nieces & nephews, and 7 great-great nieces & nephews.
And finally, Dan was known as the dog whisperer; he never met a furry friend that didn’t immediately love him and his babies, Shelby Ann and Kitty-Kitten, will miss him, as will his ‘nieces and nephews’ MM and Mac.
Those blessed to have had Dan in their lives knew him for a fun loving, easy going soul and a fantastic story teller. He enjoyed hunting, gardening, and meeting new people but one of his greatest joys was fishing with his wife and spending many, many long hours on the lake.
A Celebration of Life Service is being planned for 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 6, 2018, at Pavilion #4 of Pymatuning State Park, Jamestown.
Arrangements are under the direction of STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE.
