Daniel E. Pierce

Daniel E. Pierce, 60, of Guys Mills, passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2019, at Marquette Hospice House, Meadville.

Daniel was born in Meadville, on July 31, 1958, a son of Helen (Carpenter) and the late Norman "Poppy" Pierce.

Dan had been employed by PPG Industries. A 1977 graduate of Calvary Baptist Christian Academy, he was a standout basketball player, having scored over 1,000 points during his high school career and he continued playing recreational basketball. Daniel was an avid outdoors man who loved being out in the woods as well as hunting. His other favorite past times were following the Pittsburgh Penguins and watching his great nephews play sports. He will be missed.

Daniel is survived by his mother Helen Pierce of Meadville, two sisters Susan Holmberg of Meadville, Diann Mailliard (William) of Guys Mills, two brothers David Pierce (Toni) of Meadville, Kevin Pierce of Greenville, several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, Daniel was preceded in death by a brother Keith Pierce.

Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, May 28, 2019, from 5-7 PM at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC. in MEADVILLE, where a Memorial Service will be held at 7 PM with Pastor Richard King of Living Waters Church officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Marquette Hospice House, 766 Liberty St., Meadville, PA 16335 or Corn Planter Township Volunteer Fire Department, PO Box 10, Oil City, PA 16301.
