Chi Koung Ting

Chi Koung Ting, 74, of Meadville, passed away Sunday, June 7, 2026, at home.

Chi was born in Taipei, Taiwan on April 25, 1952, a son of the late Yang (Ting) and E Ming Ting.

Chi served in the Taiwanese military prior to moving to the U.S. in 1980. For many years he owned and operated the Chinese restaurant on Park Avenue in Meadville. He had also owned restaurants in Mercer, Sharon, and Franklin. Following his retirement, he enjoyed working in his yard, building models, and caring for his Shih Tzu Oliver and rescue dog David. A handy man, Chi was always happy to help his family around their homes. He will be missed.

Chi is survived by a son Li Ting (Heather) of Champaign, IL; two grandchildren Tristen and Trace Ting; and a sister Pa K Ting of Freemont, CA.

He was preceded in death by three brothers.

Private services will be held.

Chi will be laid to rest in Greendale Cemetery.
