Beatrice Evelyn Ward

Beatrice Evelyn (Engel) Ward, 90, of Meadville, PA, passed away Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Meadville Medical Center surrounded by family and friends.

Beatrice was born in Erie, PA, on February 12, 1936, a daughter of the late Ernest E. and Ella E. (Pollock) Engel. She was a 1954 graduate of the former Academy High School of Erie.

Beatrice married William "Bill" H. Ward on August 20, 1955. Bill preceded her in death on July 8, 2011.

She was a member of Meadville Alliance Church. Beatrice retired from Wesbury United Methodist Community after many years of service. Her hobbies included quilting and golfing weekly with her friends.

Beatrice is survived by three children Brenda Lee Ward of Cochranton, Brett William Ward (Carol) of Mercer, and Bonnie Lou Franklin (Russell) of Bentonville, AR; six grandchildren Christine Cuseck (Michael), Daniel Omicinski, Jennifer Winters (David), Paige Bowser (Robert), Emily Steetle (Robert), Bryce Ward; twelve great grandchildren; nephews Gerald Engel and Dr. Greg Engel; nieces Jackie Gehrlein and Lisa DeLos Santos.

In addition to her parents and husband, Beatrice was preceded in death by her siblings Ernest F. Engel, John C. Engel, and Doris L. Sorensen.

Visitation will be held from 10-11 AM on Monday, June 22, 2026, at Meadville Alliance Church, 660 N. Main St., Meadville, where Funeral Services will follow at 11 AM with Pastor Jeff Conley officiating.

Beatrice will be laid to rest in Erie County Memorial Gardens.
