Arthur "Archie" L. Sorger

Arthur "Archie" L. Sorger, 90, of Saegertown, passed away Friday, August 4, 2023, at home surrounded by his family.

He was born in Meadville, on February 18, 1933, a son of the late John and Dorothy (Friedrich) Sorger.

On October 20, 2017, Archie married Mary R. Konzel; she survives. He had previously been married to Shirley E. Steiner from September 12, 1953 until her death on August 22, 2007.

Archie was of the Christian faith. After many years of service he retired as a machinist from the former Abex Corporation and for many years he enjoyed planting and taking care of the flowers for the Lang family. A hard worker all of his life, Archie always stayed busy. At the age of 15, he entered the US Army and served his country honorably. For 48 years he graciously took care of his wife who was battling M.S. He will be missed by many.

In addition to his wife, Mary, Arthur is survived by three children Susan Morreale (Dana) of Saegertown, Debbie Barner of TN, Cynthia Buxton (James) of Saegertown; four grandchildren William "Billy" Beatty, Dustin Barner, Jarrod Buxton, Jordan Buxton; two great grandchildren Dylan, Colin; nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and first wife, Shirley of 53 years, Arthur was preceded in death by a son Arthur Sorger; brothers Eugene Sorger, John Sorger; and a sister Joyce Adsit.

Family and friends are invited to call from 11-1 on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 330 BROAD STREET, SAEGERTOWN, where funeral services will follow at 1 PM with Loren Little, Chaplain of Hospice of Crawford County, officiating.

Archie will be laid to rest in Gravel Run Cemetery with Full Military Honors by VFW Post #2006.
