Alma Catheryn Foulk (Miller) was born on November 19, 1935, and left this earthly realm on March 18, 2026.
Alma was born to Anna (Grinnell) and Ralph H. Miller in Meadville.
She attended Second District Elementary, the school of the landmark 1881 desegregation case in PA, of which she was very proud, and graduated from Meadville High School in 1953. Alma met her sweetheart, John, when she was 13. She earned her Diploma in Missions at Toccoa Falls Institute in Georgia while sending letters to her honey, stationed in the Navy in the Mediterranean Sea. She worked for Avtex Fibers until the company closed. Though she did not feel called to the mission field abroad, her love of missionary work never ceased, and she became an active part of her church. She was a gifted pianist, donated to the Pregnancy Center, volunteered for Operation Christmas Child, and helped anyone in need. True to her name, Alma was full of life and soul. Members of their local H.O.G., she and her husband rode their 1986 Harley Electra Glide all over the country, sharing many of their adventures with family. She gave her grandchildren the travel bug by taking them on Anderson Coach tours. She was an avid gardener and loved games, refusing to let her grandkids win at marbles or dominoes. During her years with Alzheimer’s, she still continued to puzzle. In retirement, Alma became well-known in the garage sale community. She danced everywhere she went, and people would stop and smile. When asked why she was so happy, she would say that God gave her another day to put her feet on the ground. Alma asked her husband to kiss her everywhere they went, saying, “I don’t think we’ve kissed here, yet.” At her 90th birthday party, she encouraged family to sing Happy Birthday to her multiple times. She will be deeply missed by her husband, whom she loved only second to Jesus, and by her granddaughter, whom she called her "little hummingbird." Alma will live on through her precious life advice, the feeling of her warm hugs, the taste of her homemade jam, and the sound of her dancing laughter.
Surviving family members include her sweetheart John of 77 years (married 67), daughter Rhonda Joy Foulk, brother David Miller, grandchildren Shayna Morrison (Alan), Kyler Morrison (Amy), two great-grandchildren who were the loves of her life Ayree and Anneliese, nephew Dave Miller, niece Tina Garver, many great nieces and nephews.
Alma was welcomed to heaven by her sons James “Jimmy” and Ron Foulk, brother Darwin Miller, her parents, her sisters-in-law Janet Miller, Maryln Miller, Ruth Foulk, brother-in-law Warren Foulk, nephews, Daniel Foulk, Eddie Foulk, great-nephew Aaron Newhard, and many dear friends.
Visitation is Saturday, March 28, from 10-12 at Meadville Alliance Church, 660 N. Main St., Meadville, where Funeral Services will follow at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Jeff Conley officiating, and a luncheon will follow.
Memorials may be made in Alma’s honor to Meadville Alliance Church to support their missionary work.
