Wilma "Sandy" Rogers

Wilma "Sandy" Rogers, 84, of Meadville, passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at Embassy of Park Ave.

Sandy was born in Distant on September 2, 1938, a daughter of the late Russell "Tobe" and Mary (Shumaker) Brocious.

On August 2, 1958 Sandy married Allan W. Rogers; he survives.

She was an active member of Blooming Valley United Methodist Church.

After her first two years of attending school in Distant, Sandy and her family moved to Meadville where she completed her education and graduated from Meadville High School. For many years Sandy did all the office work and book keeping for her husband's business, Rogers Plumbing. In her earlier years she worked for a brief period at Meadville News. Sandy served as a Den Mother when her sons Mark and Dan were in Cub Scouts and she enjoyed bowling in her younger years. She loved camping with her family and she treasured the time they spent together.

In addition to her husband, Allan, of 64 years, she is survived by a son Mark A. Rogers of Saegertown; a daughter-in-law Robin Rogers of Meadville; four grandchildren Cory Rogers, Casey Rogers (Courtney), Kelly Recker (Rob), Kyle Rogers; two great grandchildren Edyn and Camden Recker; Warren Marks of Conneaut Lake who was like a son; many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents Sandy was preceded in death by her son Daniel Rogers, two sisters Phyllis Biernacki and Judy Bernoski.

Family and friends are invited to call from 10 AM-1:30 PM on Friday, April 21, 2023, at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC. 404 CHESTNUT STREET, MEADVILLE, where Funeral Services will follow at 1:30 PM with Pastor Gary Wade officiating. The funeral will be livestreamed via facebook at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc.

Sandy will be laid to rest in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Vernon Twp.
