Wayne E. Ferry

Wayne E. Ferry, 82, of Meadville, passed away suddenly, Sunday, January 17, 2021, at home.

Wayne was born in Meadville, on July 2, 1938, a son of the late Harley W. and Mae (Kightlinger) Ferry.

On October 15, 1998 Wayne married Donna M. Slother; she survives.

He was affiliated with Pleasantview Alliance Church, Saegertown.

Wayne attended both Meadville and Townville/Randolph High School. At the age of 18 he began working for PennDot, retiring as Foreman at the age of 55. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting and was one of the first people in the area to do automobile undercoating.

In addition to his wife Donna of 22 years, Wayne is survived by his children Michael Ferry (Patty) of OR, William Ferry (Shawna) of OH, Lorri George (Kevin) of IN, John Pettit (Gloria) of GA, Scott Pettit (Cindy) of Titusville; several grandchildren; six brothers Carl Ferry (Marguerite) of NC, Leroy Ferry (Sandy) of Meadville, Bob Ferry (Laura) of WA, Floyd Ferry (Melody), Steve Ferry (Pat) both of Meadville; a sister in law Leatha Smith, also of Meadville; many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by a daughter Faye Hulsizer; sister Virginia Hope; and brother Harold Smith.

Family and friends are invited to call from 4-7 PM on Thursday, January 21, 2021, at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE, where CDC guidelines will be followed.

A private funeral service will be held.

Wayne will be laid to rest in Cochranton Cemetery.
