Vincena "Vinnie" Petruso

Vincena "Vinnie" Petruso, 95, of 31 N. Park Ave., Meadville, passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2015, at Wesbury United Methodist Community.

Vinnie was born in Meadville, on April 12, 1920, a daughter of the late Domenic and Frances (Aiola) Petruso.

She was a faithful member of St. Mary of Grace Roman Catholic Church where she was a member of the Altar Rosary Society and was involved with the Renew Program for many years.

In 1968 Vinnie retired from the Domestic Relations Department of the Crawford County Court House where she had been employed as Division Assistant for 15 years. She had previously been employed as a clerk in various department stores in the Meadville area. A 1938 graduate of Meadville High School, she also attended Allegheny College. Her hobbies included craft making and embroidering. She loved baking, especially cookies.

Vinnie is survived by a brother Sam Petruso and his wife Betty of Erie, a sister Mary Schramm of Downers Grove, IL, several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Vinnie was preceded in death by four brothers Thomas Petruso, Dom Petruso, Santo "Sandy" Petruso and Joseph Petruso, two sisters Ann Caprini and Madeline "Madge" McMurray.

Family and friends are invited to call from 10-11 AM on Friday, September 11, 2015, at St. Mary of Grace Church, 1085 Water St., Meadville, where A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00, with Fr. Matthew Kujawinski, Pastor, officiating.

Vinnie will be laid to rest in St. Brigid Cemetery, West Mead Twp.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary of Grace Roman Catholic Church, 1085 Water St. or Crawford Area Transit Authority (CATA), 214 Pine St., or Wesbury United Methodist Community, 31 N. Park Ave., all in Meadville, PA 16335.
